Hi I’m Eben! I absolutely love light and how you can paint with it. One of the core fundamentals in my private and professional life is to work with a team of like-minded, creative individuals streamlining workflow/pipeline development.

Even though I am no Cartier-Bresson, Irving Penn, Richard Deakins, or Edward Weston, I – like them – find passion in photography. I also eat, sleep, breathe, and live photography.

As a young photographer, I always dreamed of becoming a cinematographer & having the ability to work with physical and digital light as well. Whatever I don’t know, I seriously try to learn. Just before 2008, it was near impossible to get depth of field and digital systems at low cost solutions and since the industry is very closely guarded, I pulled teeth and nails to learn every facet of cinematography on my own. For example, in late 2008 and early 2009 I learned about digital cinematography and PL mount digital systems such as Phantoms and REDs.

You may wonder how I went about learning cinematography on my own. I joined fxphd.com (for Nuke training)/gnomon workshop(Maya/MentalRay)/digital tutors, shot behind the scenes film sets, read every online resource possible relevant to my field and spoke to current cinematographers from analog to digital to learn the process and art of the still frame coming to life. I also subscribed to American Cinematographer to learn more about the beautiful nature of 24fps. What I don’t know, I will spend my own personal funds to learn.

I am an extremely passionate individual who wants to capture the pure essence of amazing imagery. Amazing, creative imagery is my core being and I love to work with the equipment that makes that happen! From animation to light to photography … this is my background!

I have a valid driver’s license and can drive standard. I am currently working on obtaining a first level commercial vehicle license
